My real name is Rachele (there, you got it out of me!*).  I am 31 years old and in 31 years, I feel I have lived a thousands lives and at least 12 deaths.  I am a Registered Nurse, a mother, a wife, a fighter, and a writer. This is my space to share my stories with the world: my stories about surviving cancer, growing up in a harsh and ugly environment, running away from that hell and joining the navy, falling in love and marrying my best friend, and falling in love with him a second time, and mostly and most of all — the adventures of having a child with Autism and ADHD.

All of my stories are as true as I remember them, but the brain is a very interesting thing, and if there is one thing that has never ceased to amaze me, our perspectives become our reality.  These are my stories, true to the best of my knowledge.

  1. I truly love your blog. It takes a great deal of courage to go out there in the world and share your story. You have a child with autism. I have autism myself. I went from being an extremely frightened little child, who didn’t understand anything of the world around me, to a confident person who knows what she needs to manage her life.   2. I’m so glad you found me because now I’ve found you. What great stories you have here. Asperger’s is the wildest ride I never thought I’d take. But I wouldn’t change it for anything.

  4. Thank you for following my blog! I am so happy to meet another mom who is more about autism acceptance than autism treatment (scary, dehumanizing treatments). Mothers like you and I need to get the word out that people like Jenny McCarthy don’t speak for us. It is so discouraging to type “autism” into Google and only get propaganda, suggestions about harmful therapy to “detoxify” and “recover” my child, and judgement for choosing to immunize my child. Look forward to reading more!

    • 😂Thats so funny because I feel like I’m being pulled in at least 3 or 4 different directions at the same time! One of those medieval stretch torture table devices comes to mind. Really.

      Despite the fact that life is, undoubtably, CRAZY, I am constantly reminded of our many blessings, and even when it’s crazy and hard, humbly grateful for everything we’ve been given.
